My father always used to tell me that the one thing that united all of our ancestors who migrated into this country was the English language. They all learned to live together despite vast cultural differences. This country would be so much different if everyone who immigrated into it didn't learn one primary language. Language isn't all that unites Americans...it's the flag, our values, freedom, democracy etc. but language is one of the primary building blocks of unity in this country. Do I personally believe it is the only thing that unites us?No. However, it is one of the most important things. If a language is all that unites us as Americans, I’m sorely disappointed. Fortunately, this is not true. We have many more things, (a unified language, such as English, included) that make us Americans. To name just a few…
