Democrats Praising John McCain?

University of Pennsylvania Student and Iraq War Hero to Lead PACR Support the Troops Effort

Philadelphia – Pennsylvania College Republican (PACR) State Chairman Anthony Pugliese is pleased to announce his appointment of Jourdan Frain to lead the PACR Support the Troops effort. Jourdan is a decorated veteran of the Iraq War. “Jourdan has a unique experience which gives him the motivation to help his fellow soldiers. The PACRs support candidates who support the troops, but it’s important that we support them directly as well. That’s where Jourdan will excel.”

Jourdan was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor in combat and was also awarded the Purple Heart. During active duty, he was wounded a total of three times. Army policy states that any soldier wounded three times may return home, but Jourdan refused and remained with his unit for the duration of the tour.

Frain has an impressive record of accomplishment in veteran organizations. He was awarded the Liberty USO Servicemember of the Year Award in addition to being the recipient of the General Norman Schwarzkopf Scholarship by the Sergeant Major of the Army. “I was fortunate enough to recover from my injuries, but many of the troops coming home need help getting back on their feet. That’s where I want to concentrate my efforts.” Frain explained, “These troops have answered the call to defend our nation, and it’s important that we stand up for them now.”

Frain put out the call to veterans to get on board. “We are going to hit the ground running. We’ll be on every campus in this state by next year recruiting volunteers and promoting our events. We need all the support we can get.”

Guest Post by Melissa Hart, Candidate for US Congress

As the end of summer quickly approaches, college students prepare to head back to campus, and an integral part of the political process gains speed once more. College Republicans are more important than ever this year and you have an incredible opportunity to inform your peers and influence their votes in the November Election.

American Soldier’s E-mail

Last week I received this e-mail and I knew right away that I had to post it. This e-mail is from an American Soldier that is not overly involved in politics, but this was his big step into it. Obama is a liar and personally, I don’t want a president that is a liar. If I ever met Sen. Obama, my serious question to him would be, “Who wouldn’t want to spend time with our troops?” They fight for OUR freedoms! So…here’s the e-mail:

Carney…. Afraid??

Can someone please explain to me why Congressman Chris Carney won’t defend himself on the radio or agree to do a few debates with Republican candidate Chris Hackett. Carney has tentatively scheduled only one debate in September with Hackett. The Hackett campaign has contacted the Carney camp on numerous occasions to schedule a number of debates. Mr. Hackett’s campaign was proposing a series of debates, instead of just one, from July up until the election in November so as to educate the voters on the issues as well as to argue view points. The Carney camp wouldn’t even give them a call back or acknowledge their requests.

The Great Republican Revolt

This past Friday, August 1, something miraculous happened in the House of Representatives. Instead of grabbing their ankles for the Democrats’ adjournment resolution, House Republicans decided to act like Conservative and began a five hour protest on the House Floor. The reason for this unprecedented display of patriotism was Pelosi and Co.’s refusal to allow a vote on off-shore drilling. She turned off the C-SPAN cameras, the mics, and the lights. But she couldn’t silence our voice. The People were invited to our House. They were allowed on the Floor to join in the revolt. Representative after Representative gave stirring speeches. When it was over, the Sons of Liberty left the Floor to cheers of “USA! USA! USA!” And they’re still in Washington, working to bring energy independence to the country, demanding President Bush or Pelosi bring Congress back.

Obama Flips, Now to Back Offshore Drilling, Maybe

“Shifting from his previous opposition to expanded offshore drilling, the Illinois senator told a Florida newspaper he could get behind a compromise with Republicans and oil companies to prevent gridlock over energy.”

A little too late, Senator. He conveniently waited until the house Dems shut the lights off on the house Republicans to announce this CHANGE. This is politics as usual.

Is Obama Really Pro-Choice?

As the election nears, one issue seems to have been given the backseat to the economy, energy and Iraq: education.  McCain and Obama have fundamental differences about how to change the education system in America and one of the most talked about differences is school choice or vouchers.

Recently Senator Obama pandered to the American Federation of Teachers convention when he said “What I do oppose is using public money for private school vouchers. We need to focus on fixing and improving our public schools; not throwing our hands up and walking away from them.”
